Tips For Christmas Decorations

1. Don't go overboard with you colours. Pick three colours that you want on your décor style and stick to them.Using more than three colours would overwhelm the environment and won't allow the eyes to direct their attention to where you want them.
2. Keep things simple but with a purpose. Understand how much space you have to work with. A good rule of thumb is to have 2/3 of the space you have with decorations and 1/3 with negative space (nothing in it) as to captivate the viewer's attention. Use a focal point in the space. And allow for other secondary decorations or arrangements to guide the eye towards it. 3. Understand the lighting of your space. Identify whether you have warm or cool light in the space you have and if it is evenly distributed everywhere where you want to decorate. |
4.Use a base template and replicate it. Start with one room and have a pre-set style. Replicate it throughout the office/home and add/remove one or two items every so often as to not make it too formal.
5. Add your own flare to it. Add hand made ornaments if you have made some or family photos to make it feel like your own home. |
